Speaking of bilateral relations, L.Straujuma emphasized that Latvia will continue to support Moldova's reform process, by sharing its experience in European integration. "We provide support in economic reforms, in the field of justice, transport, local government reforms, regional development," said the Prime Minister.

During the discussion, L.Straujuma urged the Ambassador to pass on a message that Latvia calls on the Moldavian young people to study in Latvian universities, including the Riga Graduate School of Law that provides opportunities to study the EU law.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction over the fact that the trading volume between Latvia and Moldova has been increasing in recent years, including through opportunities provided by the EU-Moldova Association Agreement. L.Straujuma expressed Latvia’s interest in expanding the cooperation with Moldova in the field of transport and transit, and expressed the hope that, in the near future, the Intergovernmental Commission will convene a meeting to discuss the prospects for economic cooperation.
