On Thursday 12 December and Friday 13 December, Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš will participate in the European Council meeting and the Euro Summit.
During his visit to Brussels, K.Kariņš will participate in the summit of the European People's Party and in the Nordic Baltic 6 format negotiations between the Heads of Government of the Baltic and Nordic countries.
The Prime Minister will participate in the European Council on Thursday and Friday, chaired for the first time by the new President of the European Council, Charles Michel. During the meeting, the Heads of State and Government will discuss the European Union's (EU) climate policy objectives, the EU's multiannual budget, Brexit and foreign policy issues.
On Friday, K.Kariņš will also take part in the Euro Summit where the EU Heads of State and Government will discuss the development of the European Economic and Monetary Union.
