On Friday 31 May, the 23rd High Council Meeting of the Latvian Government and Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia (FICIL) will be held. The focus of this year's discussions will be on how boost Latvia's competitiveness in attracting foreign investment and improving the business environment.

At the meeting with members of the Foreign Investors’ Council, the Government will discuss ways to develop high value added economy, solutions to the problem of labour availability and improving the efficiency of public administration.

The investors and the representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers will also discuss how to improve the digital communication of entrepreneurs and public administration and Latvia's international reputation in the context of the Moneyval report published last year.

The High Council Meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš and Charlotte Norrby, FICIL Honorary Chairperson.

The High Council Meetings of the Latvian Government and FICIL have been held since 1999, with the aim of ensuring structured exchange of information and views between investors and local policy makers to improve the business environment and facilitate the inflow of foreign investment in Latvia.

Ministers, top-level officials and heads of companies of FICIL members participate in the annual meetings of the Latvian Government and FICIL.

10.15 – TV/photo opportunity during the family photo of the participants of the meeting (3rd floor of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers);
12.40 - 13.10 – media participation at the press conference of Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš and FICIL Honorary Chairperson Charlotte Norrby.
