On Thursday, November 13, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma held a meeting with Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission and discussed the cooperation during Latvia’s Presidency of the Council of the EU.
On Thursday, November 13, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma held a meeting with Henri Malosse, President of the European Economic and Social Committee to discuss current issues related to growth and employment in the European Union.
On Friday, November 7, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma together with Prime Ministers of Nordic and Baltic countries and UK, experts and entrepreneurs participated in the Northern Future Forum held in Helsinki. Within the framework of the Forum, the participants discussed the promotion of innovative entrepreneurship and competitiveness of the education system.
On behalf of the European Union, I would like to congratulate Laimdota Straujuma for being elected as Prime Minister of Latvia.
This year the coat of arms of Latvia will play the key role in the project of illumination of the Cabinet of Ministers' building in the festival "Staro Rīga". With the help of 3D animation both the history of the national symbol and the meaning of its elements will be told.

On Monday, October 27, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma took part in the official opening of the Lithuanian liquefied natural gas vessel “Independence” in Klaipēda, Lithuania. In her speech the Prime Minister emphasized – the new liquefied gas terminal will reduce the energy isolation of the Baltic States.
On Monday, October 27, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma participated in the annual meeting of the Heads of Government of the Baltic and Nordic countries (NB8) in Stockholm, Sweden.
