Prime Minister’s Office is headed by a person appointed according to an order of the Prime Minister for a period not exceeding the period of authority of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister’s Office comprises advisors to the Prime Minister, assistants of the Prime Minister and Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.
The Director of the State Chancellery appoints and dismisses the employees of the Prime Minister's Office. Such appointment does not exceed the period of authority of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister’s Office has the following functions: to analyse and support implementation of the Government's policy, also in collaboration with Government's coalition partners, according to the Declaration of the Intended Activities of the Cabinet of Ministers; to express opinion on any policy issue pointed out by the Prime Minister: to cooperate with ministries, other state and local government institutions, non-governmental organisations, political parties, as well as with foreign institutions and international organisations according to instructions of the Prime Minister; to provide information needed for visits and negotiations of the Prime Minister and prompt delivery of information acquired during meetings or tasks assigned to their addressees; according to authorisation issued by the Prime Minister, to represent option of a member of the Cabinet of Ministers in other institutions, working groups, consultative councils or other meetings for coordination of opinions and positions; in cooperation with the Communication Department of the State Chancellery, to inform the Prime Minister on political discussions in mass media, to arrange meetings with representatives of the press and other mass media and to prepare the Prime Minister for these meetings, as well as, according to instructions of the Prime Minister, to inform the society about decisions passed by the Cabinet of Ministers and the Prime Minister.
