07.09.2012 Prime Minister of Latvia will speak at the World Economic Forum
On Saturday, September 8, Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, will visit the People’s Republic of China in order to participate in the World Economic Forum in Tianjin. The Latvian Prime Minister will meet Wen Jiabao, Prime Minister of China, and other officials and entrepreneurs in order to discuss opportunities for encouraging trade and investment.

05.09.2012 Presentation on Latvia’s experience in overcoming crisis at an international forum
On Thursday, September 6, Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, is visiting Brussels in order to participate in Bruegel, a Brussels-based think-tank on economic policy issues. 10.08.2012 China Business Forum to be held in November in Rīga will bring together 400 business leaders from around the world
On August 9, 2012, the Letter of Intent between the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia and the international organization “Horasis” was signed as well as the Trilateral Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia, the local government of Riga city and the international organization “Horasis” on the organizational aspects of the China Business Forum 2012 to be held in Rīga. The annual International China Business Forum is the top-level forum of China’s entrepreneurs and their foreign cooperation partners that this year will bring together 400 business leaders from around the world in Rīga.

02.08.2012 The Prime Minister hopes for support of the Netherlands for Latvia’s accession to the OECD
On Wednesday, August 1, Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, during the farewell visit of Juriaan Kraak, Ambassador of the Netherlands to the Republic of Latvia, acknowledged Ambassador’s contribution to strengthening bilateral relation and expressed his hope that the Netherlands would support the introduction of the euro in Latvia and Latvia’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

25.07.2012 Valdis Dombrovskis hopes for support of the Czech Republic to the Baltic interests in the EU
On Wednesday, July 25, during his meeting with Petr Nečas, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, expressed his hope that the Czech Republic would support the request of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to ensure in the next Financial Perspective of the European Union (EU) sufficient cohesion funding for regional development and to provide fair allocation of direct agricultural payments. “The next EU budget should serve as a strong development impetus to whole Europe,” emphasised the Prime Minister of Latvia.

23.07.2012 Valdis Dombrovskis will meet the Czech Prime Minister
On Tuesday, July 24, Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, will pay a visit to Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, in order to meet Petr Nečas, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. Valdis Dombrovskis has also accepted an invitation to deliver a lecture on the importance of fiscal discipline for stability and development in Europe at the commencement ceremony of the American Institute on Political and Economic Systems (AIPES) and to also accept the Vašek and Anna Maria Polák visiting lecturer’s award of the Fund for American Studies.

On Thursday, July 5, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, during the 6th annual meeting of Honorary Consuls of Latvia stated that after overcoming the crisis the national priorities are competitiveness, investment and export. He emphasized that the contribution of Honorary Consuls in achieving sustainable growth is particularly important.
