The Year of Dombrovskis’ Government: the Most Critical in the Past, the Most Significant still Ahead |
 The Cabinet of Ministers headed by Valdis Dombrovskis was approved by Saeima’s vote on March 12, 2009 in circumstances when the economic crisis and insolvency of the country had become a reality. ”The Government has accomplished its most important tasks – prevented insolvency of the country, overcame the most critical point of economic crisis, and stabilized the financial and economic system, which is a necessary basis for further work on increasing the national competitiveness and restoring economic activity. This difficult task was achieved without very serious social tensions, although not without serious decisions in the social sector”, acknowledges V.Dombrovskis speaking about the year of work of the Cabinet of Ministers. |

The Prime Minister held a meeting with the Ambassador of Germany |
 On Thursday, March 4, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis held a meeting with Detlef Weigel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany during his farewell visit. Both parties discussed bilateral cooperation, especially in economics, as well as the economic situation in Latvia. |

| March 12, 2010 marks the first anniversary of the Cabinet of Ministers led by Valdis Dombrovskis and approved by the Saeima. It was a time when economic crisis and insolvency of the country became a reality. At present moment, as a result of implementation of substantial structural reforms and reduction of expenditures Latvia has stabilized the economic situation of the country. The rating agency “Standard&Poor” has already improved its assessment of Latvia’s debts from negative to positive. |

On Thursday, March 18, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis held a meeting with Pascal Fieschi, the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Latvia during his farewell visit. 
On Thursday, February 11, Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, participated in the informal meeting of the European Council which was focused on the EU 2020 strategy and the situation in Haiti, as well as the economic situation in Greece.
