On Wednesday, June 20, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis congratulated Antonis Samara, the leader of Greece's New Democracy party on his appointment to the post of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister wishes the Greek government commitment to carry out the necessary reforms to ensure a balanced fiscal policy and to restore economic growth in the country. "Latvia's experience shows that a consistent government policy can lead the country out of crisis", says V.Dombrovskis.
V.Dombrovskis has a common work experience with A.Samara, the new Prime Minister of Greece in the Budget Committee of the European Parliament, incl., drafting the previous multiannual financial framework of the EU.
Antonis Samara, the leader of the New Democracy (ND) party that has won the most votes in the parliamentary elections, and to whom President Karolos Papoulias has given a mandate to create a coalition, has taken the oath of the Prime Minister.
