Honourable members of British Chamber of Commerce in Latvia,

Dear entrepreneurs and investors!

On behalf of Latvian government I wish to congratulate you with 15 year anniversary of successful work in Latvia. During this time Latvia's economy has seen both rapid growth and serious crisis, and we have all learned valuable lessons. Your support has been very important in stabilizing Latvia's economy therefore I wish to thank the British Chamber of Commerce in Latvia and its members for our productive cooperation and thank you for your support and faith in Latvia's business environment.

Currently Latvia has returned to international financial markets, regained its economic independence and we are preparing to close the international financial assistance program. Therefore it is vitally important to continue our joint work to ensure Latvia's growth. During the financial crisis we have succeeded in changing the structure of Latvia's economy, which has become much more sustainable as it is now based on production and exports instead of real estate bubble. I am certain that Latvia has become much more competitive, which provides new opportunities both for our companies and our partners abroad. Our current priorities are continuing responsible and predictable policies by ensuring compliance with Maastricht criteria which will enable us to introduce the euro in 2014, thereby removing the last barriers between Latvia and other Eurozone countries. This will serve as an important impulse to investors to keep an even closer watch on opportunities which are available in Latvia.

Please accept my congratulations and I hope for an even closer and more successful cooperation with British Chamber of Commerce in Latvia and its members in years to come!

With best regards,

Valdis Dombrovskis

Prime Minister of Latvia
