The Prime Minister will meet representatives of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce

On Wednesday, May 18, in Rīga, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis will meet the representatives of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce to discuss the economic cooperation between the two countries. The meeting will be held within the framework of the Members’ Annual Meeting organized by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

The meeting will start at 16.15, Stockholm School of Economics in Rīga, 4a Strēlnieku Street, Wallenberg building, Room W32. A TV and photo opportunity is planned at the beginning of the meeting.

In 2010, the total trade turnover of Latvia and Sweden amounted to EUR 657.6 million, thus ranking Sweden in the 6th place among the Latvia’s foreign trade partners and providing an increase of 34% against the year 2009. Also the figures for imports from Sweden have retained a positive trend. The increase in imports is 27% compared to 2009. Latvia maintains a positive trade balance with Sweden (EUR 142 million).
