21.01.2011 The Prime Minister emphasizes the informal format of the Summit, a discussion on overcoming the economic crisis and the importance of innovations and green energy
On Thursday, January 20, in London, after the UK Northern – Baltic Summit devoted to economic challenges facing the modern Northern economies, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis acknowledged that the informal format of this Summit is innovative, has not been used so far and gives ample opportunities to freely exchange views on overcoming the economic crisis and the importance of innovations and green economy in restoration of the economy.

19.01.2011 The Prime Minister and the President of the EBRD discuss the economic situation in Latvia
On Wednesday, January 19, in London, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis met President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Thomas Mirow and Chief Economist Erik Berglof to discuss Latvia’s economic development and growth potential. The meeting was held within the framework of the Prime Minister’s working visit to London where the Prime Minister and the delegation will participate in the UK Nordic-Baltic Summit on economic challenges facing the modern Northern economies.

On January 19-20, the Latvian delegation under the guidance of Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis will pay a visit to London to participate in the UK Nordic-Baltic Summit devoted to challenges facing the modern Northern European Economies. During the absence of V.Dombrovskis, Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development, Raimonds Vējonis will fulfil the duties of the Prime Minister.

13.01.2011 The Prime Minister will deliver lectures at prestigious universities of Great Britain
On January 18-21, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis will pay a visit to Great Britain to take part in the UK Nordic-Baltic Summit devoted to challenges facing Northern European economies. The Head of the Government will also visit two prestigious universities to meet the faculty and students, as well as to inform the audience through a discussion format about the economic situation in Latvia, the challenges and objectives of overcoming the economic crisis. On January 19, the Prime Minister will pay a visit to the London School of Economics, but on January 21 – the University of Warwick where he will participate in the Midlands World Trade Forum co-organized by the Latvian Embassy in Great Britain and in the investment forum”Latvia - a Business Destination in Northern Europe” organized by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia. In this forum Latvia will also be represented by the Director of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia Andris Ozols and the invited entrepreneurs.

On January 19-20, 2011, the Latvian delegation under the guidance of Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis will visit London in order to participate in the summit on the challenges facing the modern Northern European economies. The summit is organized by the government of the United Kingdom in order to promote the exchange of new ideas among the United Kingdom, the Nordic countries and the Baltic states with a view to discuss and to share experience in creative solutions and innovations which promote the economic growth and competitiveness in context of social prosperity and equality.
