On Wednesday, November 3, the 10th Saeima of the Republic of Latvia approved the Cabinet of Ministers composed by Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis. The new Government has the following composition - Prime Minister, Minister for Regional Development and Local Governments Valdis Dombrovskis, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Defence Artis Pabriks, Minister for Foreign Affairs Ģirts Valdis Kristovskis, Minister for Economics Artis Kampars, Minister for Finance Andris Vilks, Minister for the Interior Linda Mūrniece, Minister for Education and Science Rolands Broks, Minister for Culture Sarmīte Ēlerte, Minister for Welfare Ilona Jurševska, Minister for Transport Uldis Augulis, Minister for Justice Aigars Štokenbergs, Minister for Health Juris Bārzdiņš, Minister for Environment Raimonds Vējonis, Minister for Agriculture Jānis Dūklavs.
The new Cabinet of Ministers assembled for its first sitting and was addressed by President Valdis Zatlers. In his address, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis stressed that the Government will have to continue the program for economic stabilization, ensure inheritance of the security policy and work on the tasks assigned by President Valdis Zatlers during the first Government sitting related to the unemployment, energy independence and demography.
