A high level council for the attraction of investments to be established in Latvia |
| In order to successfully compete on the investment market, it is necessary to more actively involve in the investment processes and to ensure mutual coordination of all stakeholders. To this end, on August 4, Valdis Dombriovskis, Prime Minister, is meeting Avis Ronis, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Artis Kampars, Minister for Economics. The purpose of this trilateral meeting is to urgently progress to the Government the establishment of the Coordination Council for Large and Strategically Important Investment Projects. |

| On Friday July 23, Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Andrus Ansip, Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia, and Andrius Kuilius, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, sent a letter to Barack Obama, President of the Unites States of America, to mark the 70th anniversary since the former U.S. Secretary of State Sumner Welles adopted a declaration by which the United States did not recognise the incorporation of the Baltic States into the Soviet Union in 1940. |

On Wednesday, July 14, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis met Admiral James Stavridis NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). 
On Monday, July 12, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis met Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection of Germany Ilse Aigner and discussed the common agricultural policy of the European Union (EU) after 2013 as the most important issue, particularly emphasizing the need to review the direct payment system. 
On Friday, July 9, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis met President of the Central Bank of Poland Marek Belka within the framework of the working visit. 
On Thursday, July 8, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis met Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk to discuss the bilateral cooperation between both countries and economic situation in the region. During the discussion, both Prime Ministers acknowledged that the relationship between the countries is good and friendly and should be further strengthened and expanded.
On July 8, in Rīga, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis addressed the Honorary Consuls of Latvia emphasizing their role in developing the economic cooperation between Latvia and foreign countries.
