Today, on May 20, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, Minister for Foreign Affairs Aivis Ronis, Brigadier General and Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Defence for Military Capability Development Raimonds Graube and the delegation are leaving for Kabul – the capital city of Afghanistan. In Kabul a meeting of the Prime Minister and President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai is planned. Within the framework of the meeting the parties will discuss the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as participation of the President of Afghanistan in the forthcoming NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Rīga.
The Prime Minister will also meet General Makristal Stanley, ISAF Commander and visit “Bostick” – OMLT unit base where the Latvian soldiers carry out the mission.
