On August 30-31 this year, Ivars Godmanis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, will pay a working visit to the Republic of Slovenia in order to participate in a forum devoted to energy issues and climate changes together with heads of states and governments of other countries.
Today, on August 19, a working meeting of Ivars Godmanis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, and Gediminas Kirkilas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, and Andrus Ansip, Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia, took place in Beijing.

Following the escalation of a military conflict in the region of Georgia, South Ossetia, an increasing intensity of clashes and the number of civilian casualties, and also the attacks of Russia’s armed forces within the last 12 hours on the Georgian territory which lies outside the conflict zone, Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins, on behalf of the Republic of Latvia has expressed the condemnation of these acts by the Russian Federation.
Today, on August 8, Ivars Godmanis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, met Māris Riekstiņš, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia, in order to discuss the conflict escalation in South Ossetia, Georgia.
