Today, on January 17, Ivars Godmanis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, met Catherine Todd Bailey, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Latvia, during her farewell visit.
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of the USA as a strategic partner to Latvia, and expressed his gratitude to Catherine Todd Bailey for her active work and private contribution to promotion of relations between Latvia and the USA.
Ivars Godmanis informed the U.S. Ambassador about the work of the new Government and stressed the intention to strengthen cooperation of the Government with the Saeima (Parliament). The Prime Minister informed the Ambassador also about the topical issues to be addressed – the implementation of anti-inflation plan, the situation in the field of energy supply and future prospects.
