From March 26-28, the Prime Minister, Aigars Kalvītis will pay a working visit to the Russian Federation, sign the Border Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Latvia and meet the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
The main goal of the visit is signing of the Border Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Latvia. During the visit, the Prime Minister will have meetings with high officials of the Russian State, representatives of clergy and business.
On Monday, March 26, Aigars Kalvītis will meet His Holiness Patriarch Alexei II of Moscow and All Russia, as well as Latvian entrepreneurs working in Russia.
On Tuesday, March 27, the meeting of the Prime Minister of Latvia and the Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Fradkov is planned, after which the Prime Ministers of both countries will sign the Border Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Latvia.
After signing of the Treaty, a joint press conference of the Heads of Governments of Latvia and Russia will take place. Aigars Kalvītis will participate in the working lunch organized by Mikhail Fradkov.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will visit the Cremlin Museum and participate in the working dinner with the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers), Alexander Shohin.
On Wednesday, March 28, Aigars Kalvītis will meet the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
On Wednesday, March 28, the Prime Minister will meet the President of company ‘Gazprom’, Aleksej Miller, participate in the round-table discussion together with the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jevgenij Primakov, official delegation of Latvia and business representatives of Latvia and Russia.
In the afternoon, Aigars Kalvītis will meet the Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma, Arthur Chiligarov. On Wednesday evening, a meeting of the Head of the Government of Latvia and Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister, German Gref is scheduled.
The Prime Minister, Aigars Kalvītis will return to Latvia on Thursday, March 29.
