On Wednesday, August 1, at 2:00 p.m., in the Prime Minister’s Hall (3rd floor of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers), Prime Minister, Aigars Kalvītis will meet the youth of Latvian origin from the USA, Russia, Sweden and Canada who acquaint themselves with job opportunities in several public administration institutions of Latvia and private undertakings. At the beginning of the meeting a photo and video opportunity is planned.
On the initiative of the Prime Minister, the State Employment Agency in co-operation with the Secretariat of the Minister for Special Assignments for Society Integration Affairs elaborated a pilot project”Wish Challenge” which provides seven overseas Latvian youths with praxis opportunity in order they acquaint themselves with the labor market of Latvia and will possibly return to work in Latvia in the future.
It is the first time that such a project is being implemented and during this project (from July 15 – August 15) the youth will acquire practical skills at the State Forensic Science Bureau, Rīga Technical University, company “Hill & Knowlton Latvia”, State Employment Agency, “Averoja” Ltd., “Agroprojekts” Ltd. and the Ministry of Defense.
