Tomorrow, November 23, Aigars Kalvītis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, will meet José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission. This will be another working visit of the Prime Minister after his re-approval to the post of Head of Government. Last week, Aigars Kalvītis met the Prime Ministers of Sweden and Poland.
Aigars Kalvītis plans to discuss with the President of the Commission various topical issues of the European Union (EU), agenda of the forthcoming meeting of EU leaders in December, inter alia, enlargement of the EU.
During the meeting it is planned to discuss energy issues, relations with Russia, as well as problems on the Latvia-Russia border concerning freight transportation.
The EU New Neighbourhood Policy in the region will also be discussed.
The Prime Minister will return to Latvia on Thursday evening.
