Today, Aigars Kalvītis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, met Tleukhan Kabdrakhmanov, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Latvia, who paid the Prime Minister an introductory visit.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment and expressed hope that the good relations of both countries will expand and that significant projects will be implemented, inter alia, in the rail transit sector and creation of the New Silk Road from China through Kazakhstan, Russia and Latvia.
The Prime Minister noted the need to start preparing the Legal Assistance Agreement as soon as possible and to actively work on student training programmes.
Aigars Kalvītis wished the Ambassador success in his new position and expressed the willingness of the Government of Latvia to promote political and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan.
