Today, July 24, in Ljubljana, Aigars Kalvītis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, met Janez Drnovšek, President of Slovenia. During the meeting the good political relations of both countries were noted, as well as similar political positions in the European Union (EU) and NATO. A. Kalvītis stressed that cooperation is particularly important for small countries, because exactly dynamic coordination of opinions provides opportunities to effectively participate in the decision-making process.
Both officials also discussed topical international issues – in particular the situation in the Middle East, as well as EU and NATO issues.
During his visit to Slovenia the Prime Minister will also have a meeting with France Cukjati, President of the National Assembly, and participate in an official dinner.
Today in Ljubljana the Prime Minister also attended the exhibition of Latvian artist Andris Vītols and gave several interviews to mass media of Slovenia.
