Today, Aigars Kalvītis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, met Pavlos Anastasiades, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Latvia, who paid Aigars Kalvītis an introductory visit.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment and expressed hope that the relations of Latvia and Cyprus will expand and that the successful cooperation will further develop.
During the meeting both sides discussed bilateral relations, economic contacts and promotion of tourism. Opinions were exchanged on topical issues of the European Union: the European Constitution, enlargement, and international issues.
Aigars Kalvītis wished the Ambassador success in promoting the political dialogue and economic relations between Latvia and Cyprus.
