Continuing his official visit to Ukraine, Aigars Kalvītis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, today in Kiev in a solemn ceremony laid a wreath at the grave of the Unknown Soldier, where also a military parade took place in honour of the visit of Aigars Kalvītis to Ukraine. After that, the Prime Minister met the Mayor of Kiev Olexander Omelchenko. During the conversation, the main focus was on the already existing cooperation between the cities of Rīga and Kiev, which the Mayor of Kiev described as very successful. During the meeting, the experience of Latvian central government and local governments including Latvian financial system and tax policy were discussed. Olexander Omelchenko informed about the large-scale investment projects in Kiev. Issues dealing with city planning were discussed, as well as possible projects of Latvia and Ukraine in the area of economical use of energy resources, where Latvia has gathered significant experience over the recent years. In the evening, the Prime Minister will give interviews to various Ukrainian newspapers. After that, Aigars Kalvītis will participate in the official dinner hosted by the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
