Today, September 29, Aigars Kalvītis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, met Svjetlan Berkovič, Ambassador of Croatia to Latvia, who resides in Stockholm and who has come to Latvia to pay the Prime Minister an accreditation visit. Aigars Kalvītis congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment and expressed hope that the relations of Latvia and Croatia will become deeper and cover new areas of cooperation. The Ambassador informed about Croatias plans to establish an honorary consulate in Rīga to improve the contacts between both countries. The Prime Minister positively assessed Croatias achievements on its way to the European Union (EU) and expressed Latvias support to Croatias EU membership. Both sides also discussed economic cooperation and development of tourism. The Prime Minister wished the Ambassador success in performing his work and further development of relations between both countries.
