On Wednesday, July 20, Aigars KalvÄ«tis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, met Myron Yankiv, Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia, who paid the Prime Minister a farewell visit prior to the end of his diplomatic mission in Latvia. During the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked Myron Yankiv for his personal contribution in strengthening and deepening the bilateral relations of Latvia and Ukraine during his service in Latvia. Both sides discussed the bilateral relations of Latvia and Ukraine, political and economic cooperation and contacts in the field of culture. Attention was also paid to topical issues of the European Union (EU) and NATO, in particular the efforts of Ukraine to develop closer relations with the EU and actively participate in the implementation of the EU Neighbourhood Policy. Aigars KalvÄ«tis reaffirmed LatviaâÀ™s willingness to participate in the implementation of cooperation projects with neighbouring countries in the framework of the EU Neighbourhood Policy. Latvia is ready to share its experience acquired during its way to the EU and NATO. The Prime Minister and the Ambassador of Ukraine noted that both countries have many significant joint projects in various fields, the implementation of which requires intensive work. Aigars KalvÄ«tis wished Myron Yankiv success in his future work.
