Today, February 2, ending his working visit to the Czech Republic, Aigars KalvÄ«tis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, in Prague met Bill Gates, Chairman of the Microsoft Corporation, and after the meeting signed an agreement between the Government of Latvia and the Microsoft Corporation. During the meeting, attention was paid to further cooperation between Latvia and Microsoft. Aigars KalvÄ«tis informed Bill Gates on economic and information technology development in Latvia. The sides discussed LatviaâÀ™s cooperation with Microsoft in terms of the signed agreement, which will provide significant advantages and contribute to the development of science and education in Latvia. By signing the agreement the Government of Latvia undertakes not to use illegal software in public administration. During the conversation, the sides discussed several ideas on possible projects Microsoft could implement in Latvia in the future. The Prime Minister will return to Latvia in the evening of February 2.
